What do we do?

We meet regularly to practise handbell tune ringing and we enjoy entertaining people. So far we have rung at nursing homes, walking clubs, club and society dinners, fetes and weddings. Three times a year we join other handbell teams to ring at rallies organised by either the national or local branch of the handbell ringer's association. We use sheet music but help is given to those who don't read music. An annual subscription of £20 per person goes to team funds plus we each pay £12 membership fee to the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain organisation.

We also teach handbell ringing to children; to do that we use handchimes:

How to join

New members are always welcome. Reading music is not essential but a sense of rhythm, fun and a good sense of humour always helps! Our practice nights are held in the church vestry and vary between Monday and Wednesday evenings. The sessions last 2 hours and the dates are on the diary page. Performances can be in the daytime or evening but it does not matter if you cannot make both.

If you would like to try Handbell Ringing come along to a practice night or find out more by ringing someone on our contact page.

With our Grassroots award certificate

Here we are with our Grassroots award certificate from the Skipton Building Society. The award of £500 helped us to buy more handchimes to use in schools.
